This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Soul2Search mobile app and website at www.soul2search.com. Our Services are intended for adults 18+ only.

1) Who we are

Soul2Search is owned and operated by 18Tree LLC. This Privacy Policy applies to our mobile app and our website located at https://www.soul2search.com.

2) Scope and eligibility

This Policy explains how we handle personal information across our Services. By using Soul2Search, you agree to this Policy and our Terms.

Our Services are intended for adults only. You must be 18 years or older to create an account or use Soul2Search.

3) Information we collect

  • Account and identifiers: Email address, password stored in hashed form, internal user ID, and age/date of birth to verify eligibility (18+).
  • Profile content you provide: Photos, short bios, interests, optional soul-type/personality fields, and optional sensitive information such as religious beliefs only if you choose to provide it.
  • Location: Precise geolocation (GPS) via device/Google location services when you grant permission, used for distance-based discovery. You can manage this in your device settings.
  • Communications and user-generated content: Messages and media exchanged with matches; reports, blocks, and other safety signals.
  • Usage, device, and diagnostics: In-app interactions such as swipes and likes, device data, crash logs, diagnostics, and push notification tokens to improve reliability and deliver notifications.
  • Face matching (if enabled): From photos you upload, we may derive non-reversible vector representations (“face embeddings”) used solely for matching—not identity verification. We do not sell this information.
  • Third-party sources: Service providers may generate derived analytics or diagnostics on our behalf. If we later add subscriptions or in-app purchases, we will receive transaction information from Google Play Billing for purchases.

4) How we use information

  • Provide and operate the Services, including accounts, profiles, discovery, matching, and chat.
  • Personalize experiences, including recommendations, ordering of profiles, and filters.
  • Safety, security, and moderation, including spam, fraud, and abuse detection and policy enforcement.
  • Analytics and performance, including measuring usage, fixing crashes, and improving reliability.
  • Communications, including service messages and account notices.
  • Legal compliance and enforcement of our terms.

5) Legal bases (EEA/UK)

  • Contract: to provide requested features such as account, discovery, matching, and chat.
  • Legitimate interests: safety and anti-abuse, analytics, and product improvement.
  • Consent: precise location and optional sensitive fields such as religion, and any processing that local law deems sensitive.
  • Legal obligation: compliance with applicable laws and requests.

6) How we share information

  • Service providers (processors): We use trusted service providers to support our Services. For hosting and infrastructure, we use Namecheap. We may also use providers for storage/CDN, analytics, notifications, fraud prevention, and customer support. These providers act under contract, process data on our behalf, and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
  • Other users: Content you choose to share, such as profile photos and bio, is visible to other users as designed. Messages are intended for matched users you communicate with.
  • Moderation: We currently perform moderation in-house via an admin panel, including ban/delete actions and content removal. We do not use third-party moderation vendors at this time.
  • Legal and protection: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of our Services.
  • Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, your information may be transferred consistent with this Policy.

7) International transfers

Where personal data is transferred across borders, we use appropriate safeguards, such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and implement technical and organizational measures to protect your information.

8) Data retention

  • Account/profile: retained while your account is active; deleted or anonymized within 30–90 days after you request deletion, with up to 180 days limited retention for fraud prevention or legal obligations.
  • Messages/UGC: retained while accounts are active; may persist for up to 90 days after deletion for safety audit.
  • Logs/diagnostics: typically retained for 12–18 months.

Retention periods may vary based on legal, operational, and safety requirements.

9) Your choices and controls

  • Permissions: manage precise location, camera, photos, and notifications in your device settings.
  • Profile: edit or remove optional fields such as religion.
  • Account deletion: in app, go to Settings → Delete account. You may also email support@soul2search.com.
  • Location: you can disable precise location; certain features may be limited.

10) Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection to processing. Use the in-app deletion path or contact us at support@soul2search.com or admin@soul2search.com. We verify requests and respond in accordance with applicable law.

Global privacy signals, such as GPC, are honored where legally required and where applicable device or browser-level preference signals are supported.

11) Children

Our Services are intended for adults 18+ only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

12) Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards—including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and monitoring—to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure; please use strong passwords and safeguard your account.

13) Automated decision-making and profiling

Matching and recommendations use automated processing of profile signals, including optional sensitive fields with your consent, to suggest potential matches. You can adjust your profile inputs or delete your account to stop further processing.

14) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy periodically. We will post updates at https://www.soul2search.com/privacy-policy.html and revise the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice.

15) Contact us

California (CPRA) notice at collection

We collect the following categories of personal information as defined by CPRA:

  • Identifiers, such as email and internal user ID
  • Personal information, such as age
  • Sensitive personal information, such as precise geolocation and religious beliefs if provided
  • Internet/activity information, such as app interactions
  • Geolocation data
  • Audio/visual content, such as photos
  • Inferences, such as matching scores/embeddings
  • Device data, such as push tokens and diagnostics

Purposes: provide services, security/fraud prevention, personalization, analytics, compliance, and communications.

We do not “sell” personal information or “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by CPRA.
